It’s time to be label breakers!

If you’ve ever been labeled and want to be seen in a new way, then I have a great example of how one family did that.

You Change The Way People See You

The idea with this example is that while a name or a label can define you. You can also change your name or your label and redefine yourself.

This example spells the difference between success and failure for the British monarchy.

In 1917 The royal family had an identity problem, not only were they German, but they had a very German name. King George V’s cousin was the German Kaiser Wilhelm II. This was during World War I, being German wasn’t exactly cool in England, or in large portions of Europe. Other royal family members were feeling the heat – George V’s cousin, Tzar Nicolas, was assassinated in Russia.

In 1917, the British Family changed their name from Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the English Windsor. This separated them from the German heritage and improved their image in England.

With the change of a name, they changed the identity of the family and 100 years later are still around.
